Eupen, Belgium, a sleepy industrial town that is being awakened by new cultural oddities and experiences thanks to Chantal Heck and the Sunergia organization.

Who knew that German is spoken in Belgium? In fact, the town's major problem is that unemployment is so low that there isn't any need for change. Their major event is the carnival where everyone parties and goes crazy. But for the rest of the year, it is a quite pristine place where everyone knows each other but with a sense

of discretion. The major activity for our group other than rehearsal was to count how many people we would see on the streets on our way to the hostel.... between 12 - 20.

The hospitality was fabulous and we got treated to a local delicacy, the Heck sausage, invented by the father of Chantal. The other shows programmed for the festival were very good an inspirational. Thank you Sunergia.
